About Chitec

Chitec was founded in 1998 by Dr. Chris Chiu. The company is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and has branch offices in Houston, USA, and Shanghai, China. Besides its own sales force, Chitec has authorized more than 20 sales distributors globally, covering five continents. Both of the company's plants are located in Taiwan. Chitec is ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 14064-1 certified.

Chitec focuses on the R&D of specialty chemical additives for various industries, including electronics, automotive, aerospace, construction, packaging, and synthetic fibers. During this time, Chitec has steadily built up its major product lines, including UV stabilizers, Antioxidants, Photoinitiators, and Flame retardants.

Chitec maintains its competency through process innovation rather than adopting low-cost processes at the cost of the environment. For example, solar panels, state-of-the-art wastewater and exhaust treatment facilities, as well as an RCO system for VOCs ensure zero pollution. Founded by Dr. Chris (Ching-Fan) Chiu, headquartered in Taipei City.
1999

The eco-friendly antioxidant Chinox 850 specially designed for ABS resins, was co-patented with Chimei Corporation.
2000

Relocated to the MIT Industrial Park in New Taipei City and established a dedicated R&D lab, while successfully developed Chivacure® TPO, a photoinitiator specifically designed for optical fiber coatings.
2001

Chitec UV absorbers received approval from PPG, a world-leading coatings company.
2002

Chitec UV absorbers received approval for applications in photographic films and parper from Eastman Kodak.
2004

Established the R&D center and the first sole-owned plant in Hsinchu Industrial Park, Taiwan, while launched an initial public offering.
2005

Hsinchu plant started operation. Certified to ISO 9001.
2006

Awarded first place for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant in the Consumer Goods and Chemical Industries Division by the Industrial Development Bureau.
2007

Established the Shanghai sales office.
2008

Relocated HQ to Da-an District, Taipei City.
Launched a proprietary antioxidant Trisphenol for Carestream in medical X-Ray film applications.
2009

Established the Chitec Europe office to operate REACH registration affairs (closed in 2013).
2010

Listed on the emergin stock market in Taiwan (code: 3430).
2011

Introduced a patented broad-spectrum and high-efficiency antioxidant Revonox® 501, which completed TSCA registration and received FDA approval.
2013

Received the Dupont Supplier Quality Award for 2012 and 2013.
2014

Establishment of Chitec Changhua Plant, and start-up the OEM production for the novel Flame Retardant FCX-210 of Teijin Chemical.
2015

Established the Chitec US sales office and warehouse logistitcs in Houston, TX
2016

Revonox® 420V, a phenol-free antioxidant derived from palm oil, received FDA approval after years of effort.
2018

Chitec completed the REACH registration for more than 30 of its products.
2019

Introduced the novel patented product R-gen® 990, a liquid photoinitiator designed for LED UV curing and black ink systems.
2020

The novel reactable UV absorber Chiguard® R-445, and the newly-developed UV blocker Chiguard® GA403 received global patents and completed the TSCA and REACH registrations.
2021

Awarded the 6th Potential Taiwan Mittelstand Award by the Industrial Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
2022

Listed on the Taipei Exchange with the stock code 3430.
2023

Chiguard® R-455, Awarded the 2023 TCIA (Taiwan Chemical Industry Association) Product Innovation Award.
2024

Chitec Commences Construction of New Warehouse Facility at Zhangbin Plant.
