Introduction

To verify its weathering performance, a series of xenon lamp aging tests were conducted to simulate prolonged outdoor exposure, observing discoloration and degradation of the wood coating films from 72 hours up to 1500 hours of continuous UV exposure.

Test results demonstrate W-5491’s superior stability.
After 1152 hours of continuous UV exposure, the ΔE (color difference) was only 9.57 – outperforming other test groups. It effectively suppresses yellowing and preserves the wood’s original color and grain.
W-5491 delivers high performance as a single additive, with no need for HALS or multiple-component combinations – enabling a simpler formulation with better results.
